Our process
How does the process of creating an electronic message center or LED channel letters with Coastal Signs begin?
Every project kicks off with an initial consultation. During this phase, we discuss your specific needs, preferences, and the vision you have for your sign. Our team will also assess the proposed installation site to ensure that your project complies with all local zoning laws and requirements.
What happens after the initial consultation?
Once we have all the necessary information, our design team gets to work. We create a custom design tailored to your requirements and provide a detailed proposal that includes the project scope, design mock-ups, and a quote. This phase is collaborative, and we encourage your feedback to ensure the final product will meet your expectations.
How is the manufacturing process handled?
After design approval and any necessary permits are secured, we move into the manufacturing phase. Your sign is built in our state-of-the-art facility using high-quality materials and the latest technology to ensure durability and performance.
What about installation?
Our experienced installation team takes over once manufacturing is complete. We coordinate with you to schedule the installation at a time that minimizes disruption to your business. Our team ensures a smooth and efficient installation process, adhering to all safety standards.
Is there any follow-up service after the installation?
Absolutely! Coastal Signs is committed to your satisfaction. After installation, we provide a comprehensive walkthrough of your new sign, including how to operate it and maintain it. We also offer ongoing support and maintenance services to ensure your investment continues to perform at its best for years to come.
How long does the entire process take from consultation to completion?
The timeline can vary depending on the complexity of the project, permit acquisition, and other factors. However, we strive to complete most projects within a few weeks to a few months. We'll provide a more accurate timeline once the initial consultation and design phase are complete.
Coverage, warranty & fit
What areas do you serve?
We're based at 180 Depot Street in Slocomb, Alabama, and we work across all of Alabama, Georgia (especially Southwest Georgia) and the Florida Panhandle. If you're outside that area, reach out anyway and we'll let you know honestly whether we can help.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Our message centers (EMCs) come with a 3-year parts and labor warranty, and an extended 5-year warranty is available. Our electric signs, including channel letters and sign cabinets, carry a 5-year warranty.
How much does a sign cost?
Every sign is custom, so the honest answer depends on the type, size, lighting, location and permits. Our free quote form asks a few quick questions, and then our design team prepares a detailed proposal with mock-ups and a straight, fair quote. We will work with you to fit your budget, and we are happy to show options if you want to start smaller.
I don't know what my sign is called. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Tell us what you're picturing, like “lighted letters,” “a tall sign by the road” or “a digital sign,” and we'll translate. Lighted letters are usually LED channel letters, a tall roadside sign is a pole or pylon sign, and a digital or reader-board sign is an electronic message center (EMC).
Do you do vehicle wraps, shirts or business cards?
No. We don't do vehicle wraps, apparel or offset printing like catalogs and business cards. A quick search for a local wrap shop or print shop near you is your best bet. For signs, banners, murals and wall graphics, we'd love to help.
Message centers (EMC)
No monthly software fees
Is there a monthly fee for the message center software?
No. Our message center software has no monthly subscription fee. Once your sign is installed, updating your messages doesn't come with a monthly software bill.
What resolution are your message centers?
Most of the message centers we sell are a very high-resolution 6mm pixel pitch. The LED dots sit close together, so photos, logos and small text look sharp, even up close. We'll recommend the right display for your spot.
Will a digital sign be too bright at night?
Our displays are bright enough to read in full sun and dim automatically after dark, so they stay readable without glare. We also check local sign rules as part of every project.
